Bioluminescence

Wildlife Monitoring

IPBio conducts continuous wildlife monitoring in the Betary Reserve, covering fish, amphibians, birds, and mammals. This work is carried out using photography and video equipment, along with advanced technology for bioacoustic research.
These studies play a crucial role in the conservation of Atlantic Forest wildlife, providing valuable data for science and supporting the development of effective strategies for biodiversity preservation and management.
Bioacoustics

For nearly a decade, IPBio has been conducting bioacoustic research in the Betary Reserve to study the sound patterns of local wildlife and their relationship with the environment. Bioacoustics is a powerful tool for biodiversity monitoring, enabling the identification of species, analysis of behavioral patterns, and detection of environmental changes over time.
Amphibians

Fungi

IPBio conducts research in the field of mycology with the goal of assessing the diversity of macrofungi in the Atlantic Forest. Among the groups of interest are bioluminescent mushrooms, entomopathogenic fungi, and lichenized fungi.
